1. Nature of the service

Gordon Cook Motorcycle Training provides motorcycle coaching, rider-development and experience sessions. It is not a DVSA Approved Training Body and does not issue CBT/DL196 certificates or motorcycle licence qualifications.

2. Rider eligibility

For any session on a public road, the rider must hold the correct licence entitlement and must be lawfully entitled to ride the motorcycle being used. Any motorcycle used on the road must be appropriately insured, taxed where required, MOT-compliant where required and roadworthy.

3. Safety and instructor discretion

Safety takes priority over completing any planned content. A session may be changed, shortened, postponed or ended where the instructor reasonably considers that weather, road conditions, rider conduct, equipment, motorcycle condition or another safety issue makes continuation unsuitable.

4. Fitness to take part

Riders must be physically and mentally fit to participate and must not take part while impaired by alcohol, illegal drugs, medication that makes riding unsafe, severe fatigue or another condition that makes participation unsafe.

5. Protective equipment

Appropriate protective clothing and a lawful motorcycle helmet must be worn where required. Where equipment is supplied, the rider must use it as instructed and report any fit or defect issue immediately.

6. Use of your own motorcycle

If you use your own motorcycle, you remain responsible for its legal status, insurance, roadworthiness, maintenance and suitability. The instructor may decline to use a motorcycle considered unsuitable or unsafe.

7. Bookings, payments and rescheduling

The price, payment arrangements, meeting point, duration and any specific cancellation or rescheduling terms will be confirmed when the booking is made. Any booking-specific written terms supplied at that time form part of the agreement and take precedence over general website wording where there is a conflict.

8. Weather and unavoidable events

Motorcycle training can be weather-dependent. Where a session cannot reasonably proceed because of unsafe conditions or an event outside either party's control, the parties will seek to rearrange it. Any refund entitlement will be governed by the booking-specific terms and applicable consumer law.

9. Gift vouchers

Gift vouchers are subject to availability, rider suitability and any validity period or booking restrictions stated when the voucher is supplied. A voucher does not guarantee a particular date, location, motorcycle or instructor unless confirmed in writing.

10. Behaviour

Abusive, threatening, dangerous or deliberately non-compliant behaviour will not be accepted. A session may be terminated where behaviour creates a safety risk or makes the training relationship unworkable.

11. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts liability where the law does not permit that. Motorcycling carries inherent risk and riders remain responsible for their own actions and for following lawful instructions and road rules.

12. Personal information

Personal information is handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer rights that apply.
